About This Course
Chemistry is essential for meeting our basic needs of food, clothing, shelter, health, energy, and clean air, water, and soil. Chemical technologies enrich our quality of life in numerous ways by providing new solutions to problems in health, materials, and energy usage. The aims of this courses are to:
acquire knowledge and understanding and develop practical skills, including efficient, accurate and safe
scientific practices
- learn to apply the scientific method, while developing an awareness of the limitations of scientific theories and
models
- develop skills in data analysis, evaluation and drawing conclusions, cultivating attitudes relevant to science such as objectivity, integrity, enquiry, initiative and inventiveness
- develop effective scientific communication skills, using appropriate terminology and scientific conventions
- understand their responsibility to others/society and to care for the environment
- enjoy science and develop an informed interest in the subject that may lead to further study.
Our classroom setting is hybride in nature where students get all course material including lectures videos, problem solving techniques, quizzes and assignments on demand, and in addition, they also have opportunity to interact with course experts , mentors and teaching assistant in virtual classes. Student can post their problems and concerns in online forum, and participate in discussion. Fellow students or instructor will replay the forum questions on their own time
